There are tons of different types of targets you can use when you are training or practicing with a martial arts student. From paddles like the Proforce Double Hand Paddle, to body shields like the Proforce Curved Foam Shield. Each target serves its purpose, but training mits allow for something that the others do not.

With each of the other training targets, the student is limited to where and how they can strike. To do a forward punch with a paddle the trainer has to stand awkwardly in order to get the paddle facing the right way. In order to give a high punch or a low kick with a body shield, the trainer has to move the bag which may end up throwing them off balance.
